Gerd:
GERD may have other causes, such as bile reflux . So, the term acid reflux disease is more specific in the sense
of what causes it. GERD is a chronic, but treatable condition, and it is extremely common. Studies estimate that
approximately 19 million people in the United States may have GERD. GERD patients, however, often possess greater
concentrations of acid in the refluxed liquid. As well, the acid remains in the oesophagus for longer periods of
time than in non-sufferers, as saliva cannot effectively neutralize these increased concentrations of acid.
GERD was graded according to the endoscope's severity of mucosal damage as no erosions, single erosions,
confluent erosions, oesophageal ulcers, and strictures. A multiple linear regression was used to assess the joint
influences of demographic characteristics, social habits, endoscope's anatomy, and various parameters of
oesophageal function tests on the severity of erosive reflux disease. GERD can sometimes (but certainly not more
than half of the time) worsen asthma. GERD is a serious condition that can require surgery to correct. An acid
reflux baby may or may not exhibit these symptoms of acid reflux in babies .
Symptoms:
Symptoms you can experience are difficulty swallowing, a painful burning sensation, of the oesophagus, nausea
and heartburn. The oesophagus can also get infected, raw and irritated due to a weakened immune system (HIV),
medications such as corticosteroids as well as by viruses such as herpes, candida infection or fungi. Symptoms
occur when this specialized muscle weakens and allows stomach acid to splash up into the oesophagus. These symptoms
include heartburn, chest discomfort, and bitter fluid flowing up into the mouth. Symptoms of being too acidic are
burping, belching, stomach bloating and flatulence more than normal. Alcohol is acidic, and so is the mix that you
use.
Symptoms can be greatly relieved or prevented by lifestyle and dietary changes as well as the use of herbs known
to promote healthy digestion.
Avoid tight clothing that may worsen symptoms. Smoking also causes the oesophagus valve to relax. Avoid the food
ingredients which can intensify heart burn such as caffeine, soft drinks, and smoking. Avoid eating two hours
before sleeping; likewise, avoid lying down after taking meal. Avoiding foods that trigger acid reflux, such as
fatty foods, coffee, chocolate, etc, will help relieve any symptoms it causes.
